Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter in honor of her hometown. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father is from a Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. She has also a half-sister named Sunyata Jubal. Her younger brother is Uria. Ryder moved together with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. At the time, there was no electricity. Ryder was a voracious bookworm and would spend her days studying books since there was no TV. Ryder began to take acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of twelve years old. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986 at the age of 15 older. Ryder suffered from bullying throughout high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor, her behavior could be reduced. But it wasn't to come to happen. The actress continued to chase her goals. In 1988 she had her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder played parts that proved successful in several movies. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
